Tenerife Weather and Geography Overview

Canary Islands are a Spanish Archipelago close to the west coast of Northern Africa. They are known as “The Islands of Eternal Spring” for their extraordinary pleasant weather all year round.

Tenerife is the southest Canary Island.

Tenerife holiday can guarantee the perfect level of heat, little rain and plenty of sun. However, you can find a great variety of microclimates to explore. The island is mountainous, sits in the cooling Canary Current of the North Atlantic Ocean, and in the path of the northeast trade winds. These factors give rise to an exceptional regional climatic variation – so much that you can generally choose what type of weather you would like to experience on any day.

Wherever you are, traversing only a few kilometers, you can always access a real contrast. For instance, in Winter, you may hike up to the snow line on Mount Teide by the morning and finish the day sunbathing on the south coast.
